Papers and letterbook of Livingston who was engaged in trade of Greenock, Liverpool, and Belfast with Charleston, S.C. and Wilmington, N.C. Shipments to America included potatoes, salt, and stoneware. Immigrants were also carried. Cargo on the return voyages included turpentine from N.C. and sea island cotton from S.C. There is comment on insurance, Charleston wages, trade conditions, the 1822 Navigation and Trade Acts of Great Britain and port conditions in Wilmington.
